Today’s to-do:
Sign up for the second round of the Seventy Days of Sweat writing challenge: check!
Sign up for NaNoWriMo 2007: check!
Fritter away time that should be spent frantically outlining by watching Veronica Mars on DVD: check!
So I’ve pushed my previously proposed next manuscript to the side to work on something a bit different that I’ve always wanted to do but was afraid to try. You know, one of those things I put on the back burner until I was a better writer and stuff. It’s not that I’m ever so much better, but more that I figure the way to get better is just to tackle it.
More about it later, after I spend some more time getting over myself.
I plan to spend the time until Nano working on outline/prep stuff. But still I need to get back to being posty and updating often.
I’d like some buddies. It’s not like I can keep up with two or three hundred people who are going to sign up for the Challenge until they whittle down to the 30-40 serious and accountable people who were still reporting in semi-regularly by the end. If you’re going to do Nano or the Challenge, if you’re going to blog about your progress or lack thereof at least one or two times a week, and if the idea appeals to you, let me know in the comments so I can start a Sweat Round 2/Nano Blogroll.
I’m not sure I’m going back to Friday Snippets. Not only do I not really have stuff to post at the moment, but most of the snippets are not in genres I understand well, and, more importantly, I’m overwhelmed by the length of most of them. Kettle and I have been talking about doing something similar, but a spin-off that’s more romance-oriented. Still kicking it around. Interested, have ideas, please comment.
Ok, enough babbling. Just wanted to check in and say I haven’t dropped off the face of the Earth, sorry for the long absence, and hopefully things will get back to normal soon.

Me me me me me! I’m a buddy! Fellow sweater!
